Since I first time since I subscribed to Wired magazine back in the early nineties, I'm considering not renewing my subscription. Wired was the magazine of the Internet generation. If it was hip, or cool, or new, they would have a story before anyone else. A voice for freedom of speech and thought on the Net.
Of late they seem to have lost their edge. There seems to be more and more stories about media, hollywood, and the like and less and less on tech. More stories on the rich and powerful, and less on those who may be the leaders of the future.
Maybe its just me. But it feels like they are losing their libertarian ideals and just becoming another mainstream rag. Well I'm not ready to pull the plug yet. But I sure hope it doesn't morph into the tech version of People.
