Well I went to MI3 this weekend. I have been looking forward to this movie and XMen this summer. MI3 was a bit too predictable. There were several times during the movie that I felt really bored. Its like you know exactly what is going to happen.
Phillip Seymour Hoffman was pretty good as the villian. However, in this series the villians are never on the same level as the hero. They are always a step below. A super villian here or there would be nice. Also, I think the story needs to be more of a mystery and less of one long chase.
While working today I ran across this page with some nice simple Ruby date examples. I'm working on a project where an XQuery needs to pull its data based on yesterday's date. The XPath spec has functions for this sort of date math, but my native XML database vendor does not currently support the functions I need. So when I googled for how to subract a day with Ruby this is what I came up with:
Ruby rocks. Simple and easy, just what you would expect.
